About
Boy Scout Troop 445 meets on Thursdays at 7:15 p.m. during the school year at the Harwood House Thrift Shop on the
corner of Woodfield Road and Main Street in Damascus, Maryland.
Troop 445 in Damascus, Maryland has been encouraging scouts to become responsible community leaders since 1948. The troop equips the scouts by making the Trail to Eagle accessible and provides them with leadership opportunities within the troop. Adult leaders such as the Scoutmaster, the Asst. Scoutmasters, and Merit Badge Counselors take an active role in shepherding the scouts to reach their goals.
We are an active, outdoor oriented troop that has outdoor activities at least once a month. Some of those activities include: primitive camping, lazy camping, Klondike Derby, snow skiing, kayaking, and hiking. We are involved in helping the community in several ways such as adopting a family each year, food drives, and community outreach projects. This does not include the community based scout led Eagle Projects.
